Uncharted 3 is just days away and to celebrate we’re breaking down all the latest gameplay and news. Everything you need to know about Uncharted 3 in one easy to read post.
Full game synopsis: The journey propels fortune hunter Nathan Drake on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert, a journey that pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake’s quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.

For some reason, Naughty Dog decided to have actor Harrison Ford play the game as part of the Television commercial for Japanese audiences. It makes absolutely no sense, other than the fact that Uncharted is like a modern day Indiana Jones story. And let’s be honest here people, there has to be a guy standing behind Harrison that is ACTUALLY playing the game. The old man couldn’t play a PlayStation game if his life depended on it! I’m only joking…or am I?
Read our Uncharted 3 Beta impressions for those that are looking forward to the multiplayer. Read it HERE.

The Collector’s Edition is a must have for hardcore fans. It comes with an incredible game case that’s called a traveling chest. The chest stores all the goodies and the game. Also included is a Nathan Drake statue made by the always impressive SideShow Collectibles. Also, you’ll receive a Collector’s Edition Steelbook game case, a Nathan Drake belt buckle and a necklace with Sir Francis Drake‘s ring. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d put this Collector’s Edition at a 7.
Pre-orders. As usual with a huge blockbuster game, there are different pre-orders with different vendors.
If for some reason you still use Home, then you’ll love this. A level from Uncharted 3 has taken over Home. You start the level by taking your avatar through a shooting gallery where you need to fight through enemies and gather treasure. It’s of course no where near the actual gameplay of Uncharted but it’s still impressive.
It’s absolutely free and there are a total of ten different challenges to play through. Here’s the kicker, if you manage to complete each of the challenges you’ll actually unlock the Endurance Booster Kickback for Uncharted 3 multiplayer. This kickback actually increases th duration of timed Medal Kickbacks. It’s pretty handy. On top of that, there are in-Home rewards for each challenge completed.
It’s nice to see a game company actually take advantage of Home correctly.

There is an official Uncharted novel, called and written by Christopher Golden. The book is out now.
The full synopsis:
In the ancient world there was a myth about a king, a treasure, and a hellish labyrinth. Now the doors to that hell are open once again.
Nathan Drake, treasure hunter and risk taker, has been called to New York City by the man who taught him everything about the “antiquities acquisition business.” Victor Sullivan needs Drake’s help. Sully’s old friend, a world-famous archaeologist, has just been found murdered in Manhattan. Dodging assassins, Drake, Sully, and the dead man’s daughter, Jada Hzujak, race from New York to underground excavations in Egypt and Greece. Their goal: to unravel an ancient myth of alchemy, look for three long-lost labyrinths, and find the astonishing discovery that got Jada’s father killed. It appears that a fourth labyrinth was built in another land and another culture-and within it lies a key to unmatched wealth and power. An army of terrifying lost warriors guards this underground maze. So does a monster. And what lies beyond – if Drake can live long enough to reach it – is both a treasure and a poison, a paradise and a hell.
