Jeremy Reviews Final Fantasy IV Complete for PSP

Finally play a complete version of Final Fantasy IV

Another year another handheld with the fifth time remade FF4 this time for PSP. I know your saying, “What again! How many times are they gonna remake that damn game?” Well now this “The Complete Edition”, as the title says, it has a new interlude and The After Years, yes that’s right The After Years, the episodic tales that you could only get in Japan on a phone and on Wii Ware having to buy every episode. Well it’s all here on one UMD or download on the PlayStation Network, whichever you prefer. All redrawn sprite graphics with your choice of original music or rearranged sound track. For $30 you’re getting one hell of a good game that you shouldn’t miss.

This version on the PSP is nicely done with updated sprites to give it a very nice look on the system. The music is fantastic as always, whether you play with the original mix or the arranged. The difficulty has been toned down since the 3D remake on DS so anyone can enjoy this masterpiece without any trouble. They also reworked the translation again for the better, but for those of you that have played this game before your favorite line “You Spoony Bard”, is still there. They left in the special quests from the DS remake so you can get your characters their ultimate weapons and such which is a nice touch.

Final Fantasy IV holds a special place with me and a lot of gamers out there, after all I’ve bought the game five times now. The story of Cecil, Rosa, Kain and the rest of the crew never gets old. Every time I play the game it’s like playing if for the first time again back in 1991. It just takes me back to the first time I fired this game up on the SNES. If you’ve never played this chapter before now is a good time to pick it up on the PSP. Or if you are a FFIV veteran, then this version needs to be in your collection. Like I said for $30 you’re getting a great game with all the extras and the complete storyline what are you waiting go pick it up! This classic RPG has stood the test of time.
