FFX Remastered

Final Fantasy X Remastered

At Sony’s big TGS conference it was announced by Squire Enix that the PS2 game, Final Fantasy X will be re-released. The game is being remastered for the Vita and PlayStation 3. Shinji Hashimoto said that this game was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Franchise on PlayStation systems. Details are scarce, the game is still in production, so there’s nothing to show at this time.

It’s curious why they are doing Final Fantasy X when fans of the RPG game series are practically sending death threats to have a remake of Final Fantasy VII. While it’s entirely possible that this game could end up being a simple upconverted version of the original; Square Enix loves creating content for the Final Fantasy series in remakes, sequels and spin-offs. In fact, Final Fantasy X was a sort of the testing platform for such behavior. Final Fantasy X-2, was the first very Final Fantasy sequel and hit the states in November of 2003. It managed to sell 4 million copies world wide. The game was voted as the 32nd best game of all time by Famitsu.

This fall, fans can look forward to a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, which will hit Japan in December and the U.S. one month later. Read Kens preview  HERE. And wouldn’t you know it, Square Enix just bought the domain name for Final Fantasy XIII-3 earlier this month.
