Earlier today, the CEO of Ubisoft announced that a new Assassin’s Creed game will come out in 2012. He said the game will be a major installment in the series. No specfics were given but this newly announced game is not to be confused with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Revelations. (Read our preview of Revelations HERE) More information to come in the next few months.
What we do know is that the Assassin’s Creed story is all culminating to an end of the world plot that will occur in December 2012. The unnamed Assassin’s Creed game will be released before that time as to take full advantage of the story. Revelations will conclude the stories of both Ezio and Altair but the story of Desmond won’t conclude until the final Assassin’s Creed game that will come out in 2012.
It’s a curious announcement to say the least. An Assassin’s Creed game that won’t have either Altair or Ezio? We all know that Desmond has picked up some impressive skills over the years but is it enough to make him the only character in the final game? Or will we still time travel to a new period and play as a different assassin altogether? Time will tell.
