“Thor Easter Eggs“Thor, like every other Marvel made movie is filled with references and easter eggs. Though it seems like Marvel outdid themselves on this one. As mentioned in our review, the amount of references make Thor seem more like a prologue then a stand alone film. Still, they certainly help to build the Marvel universe and add a lot of fun for comic book fans.
Here we list everything (hopefully) that’s in Thor.
SPOILERS
1. Odin’s private vault is the biggest egg holder. It’s sort of a treasure room filled with Marvel items. While you can’t see them too clearly in the movie, The Art of Thor book has photos of them and detailed descriptions. Here’s the scan of the page, as well as a few of the descriptions. (brought to you by the daily Blam)

Eternal Flame (top, left) – Mystical flame that cannot be extinguished. It was stolen from Surtur by Odin, Vili, and Ve Borson at the dawn of time so that Surtur could not light his sword and bring about Ragnarok.
Infinity Gauntlet (right) – The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the ‘soul gems’, better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers made the wearer nearly invincible.
Warlock’s Eye (bottom, center) – A powerful, mystical weapon used unsuccessfully against Odin, Thor and the Warriors Three during an invasion of Asgard.
Twilight Sword (not pictured) – Created by Surtur using the energy of the exploding home galaxy of the Korbinites, it was intended to set the universe afire. Later used as a power source by Loki & Morgan Le Fay.
Orb of Agamotto (top, left center) – A scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensions
Tablet of Life & Time (top, right center) – On the tablet was a biochemical formula for a serum, the so-called Lifeline Formula, which could rejuvinate, heal and grant its user the chance to reach the full evolutionary potential of its race
2. Marvel co-founder and Thor creator, Stan Lee, has many cameo’s in super-hero films. Thor is no different and may have his best cameo appearance yet. After Thor’s hammer crashes to earth, many of the locals try their might to lift it from the ground. One such character tries to hitch the hammer to his truck. When he hits the gas, the bed of his truck flies up and he gives a comical line “did it work?”
3. When S.H.I.E.L.D. first arrives on scene we are treated to a familiar scene of a Agent Coulson talking to a mysterious figure on the phone and tells him “sir, we’ve found it”. This is an exact scene taken from Iron Man 2, after it’s credits.

4. After S.H.I.E.L.D. confinscates Janes equipment, Erik Selvig referes to one of the top minds in the field of Gamma radiation that might help them. Obviously this is an obvious reference to The Incredible Hulk, specifically Bruce Banner.
5. When Thor breaks into the S.H.I.E.L.D. compound, Agent Coulson requests support, “eyes in the sky”. We then see another agent, known as Barton grab a bow and take position. This is the first time we see Jeremy Renner in the role of Hawkeye and we’ll see a lot more of him in The Avengers.
6. There’s a comical line when the Destoyer armor shows up. One of the agents immediately asks Coulson if “that’s one of Starks?”. Obviously refering to Tony Stark/Iron Man. This was definitely one of my favorite references and it was very quick but fit perfectly.
7. After the movies credits finish, we are treated to an expected little stinger. Prof. Selvig and Nick Fury meet in a private facility. Where Nick Fury shows him the Cosmic Cube that will be an important item in the Captain America movie coming out soon. This item was supposed to be in Odin’s vault but somehow was removed. This scene also shows us that Loki will be behind some mischief in The Avengers.
Be sure to listen to episode 01 of The Pulp to hear us share our thoughts on Thor.
