Steve Jobs Passes away at 56

Steve Jobs, was a legend. There has been  no one like Steve Jobs, he was with out a doubt a genius. Not only a genrios with technology but a genius in businesslike. He will be missed but his legacy will live on forever.

Everyone knows that I am not a fan of Apple products. I have however always admired Steve Jobs, with out him we would not have any of these products below. Of course these are not the only items Steve Jobs have done. He has helped to shape the world that we live in. While he did not create this products himself. He has the vision to make these products possible. Tell us what you think about Steve Jobs below in the comments.

iPod

Before the iPod came, CD players and to a lesser extent cassette players were really the only way to listen to music on the go. Of course those mediums were limited to just a few songs on each disc. While there was of course MP3 players before it like the Nomad and the Rio. It was not until the iPod that it became possible for the average consumer. Here are some the quotes for Steve Jobs about the iPod

-There are sneakers that cost more than an iPod.

-We don’t believe it’s possible to protect digital content … What’s new is this amazingly efficient distribution system for stolen property called the Internet — and no one’s gonna shut down the Internet. And it only takes one stolen copy to be on the Internet. And the way we expressed it to them is: Pick one lock — open every door. It only takes one person to pick a lock. Worst case: Somebody just takes the analog outputs of their CD player and rerecords it — puts it on the Internet. You’ll never stop that. So what you have to do is compete with it

iTunes

Of course what would the iPod be with itunes. What would the tech world be with out iTunes, Steve had to come up with a software program to allow the average user download and buy music. With out iTunes, we would not have any of our digital distribution platforms we have today.

-We had the hardware expertise, the industrial design expertise and the software expertise, including iTunes. One of the biggest insights we have was that we decided not to try to manage your music library on the iPod, but to manage it in iTunes. Other companies tried to do everything on the device itself and made it so complicated that it was useless.

-It will go down in history as a turning point for the music industry. This is landmark stuff. I can’t overestimate it!

-It’s like giving a glass of ice water to somebody in hell!

iPhone / iPad

Everyone knows about iPhone and the iPad. Although many people forget that before the first iphone, we were stuck with phones that did one thing…make calls. Now we expect our phones to do everything a computer can do. Now the iPad is doing the same thing for the laptop.

-Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything. It’s very fortunate if you can work on just one of these in your career. … Apple’s been very fortunate in that it’s introduced a few of these.

-I wish developing great products was as easy as writing a check … if so, then Microsoft would have great products.

 Pixar

After Steve Jobs got fired from Apple, he formed NeXT Technologies and then helped to jump-start Pixar. Even Pixar helped to shape the world. Before Pixar’s Toy Story, CGI only movies were not considered worth the investment. Of course as we all know CGI is now the main form of animated films on the internet.

-They’re babes in the woods. I think I can help turn Alvy and Ed into businessmen.

-If I knew in 1986 how much it was going to cost to keep Pixar going, I doubt if I would have bought the company.

-I think Pixar has the opportunity to be the next Disney — not replace Disney — but be the next Disney.

-Why would I ever want to run Disney? Wouldn’t it make more sense just to sell them Pixar and retire?

-Pixar is the most technically advanced creative company; Apple is the most creatively advanced technical company
