With just Five weeks left until the 2010 draft, and hundreds of prospects all vying for seven spots on each team. So we are going to wad through the waters and place the spotlight on the top prospects you should know about. We are going to start with a guy who by now everyone has heard of. That prospect is Tim Tebow.
The Florida Gator Quarterback, had a tremendous college career winning the Heisman trophy in just his sophomore year, the same year that he was the only player to pass and rush for twenty touchdowns each. Tim Tebow was able to acquire upwards to thirty different awards. For both his Quarterback play and his academics. He also set a number of Florida records.
Drafting a Quarterback, is always high Priority for teams. So they can get a younger, healthier guy to be the Quarterback of future. Tim Tebow, will be coming out of college already going thru a surgery on his throwing shoulder at the end of the 2008 season. The good news, is the surgery did not slow him down, he still had an outstanding season, relying on his legs to get him out of trouble. During the 2009 season he scared the world during his game against Kentucky. Tim Tebow, was hit hard, leaving him lying motionless for several minutes before being helped to the sidelines, where he went on to puke and was rushed to the hospital for fear of bleeding in the brain. He was released the next morning with just a mild concussion.
Tim Tebow, is one of the most debated prospects in this years drafts. Coaches and the Media, are at odds with each other on whether he will be able to make in the pro level. It is even contested in the offices of the NFL Endzone with both us of opposite sides of the fence. All this adds up to is money signs for Tebow, since he will have endorsements deals lined up have his jersey flying of the shelve due to this publicity.
Even with some heavy backers and heavy opponents Tim Tebow is still only going to be drafted in the seconded or third round, with top team in the running being the Jacksonville Jaguars where Tebow will be able to fit in quite nicely with the same style of team he played for in college. Do not look for Tim Tebow to be a starter right out of the gate, no matter where he lands. He needs some time to mature and stop reeling on his legs to get the job done.

By now everyone has heard that the NFL is in an Uncapped season. But only a few really knows what that means. The first things people think of when the hear that it is an uncapped season, is spending spree. While that is of course possible, having an Uncapped year means so much more.
The Salary cap, the one thing that the NFL has always been known for is no more. Teams are free to spend as much or as Little as they want. Although most teams know that this will only be a one year thing and they do not want to get themselves into to trouble next year. Now there are many rules in place to prevent one team from stocking up on the top talent.
One of those rules is called the “Final Eight” rule. It limits the top eight ranking teams, based on how they finished in the playoffs, to only signing the amount of players they lost in the Free agent market. So for example if the Saints lost, 1 Free Agent. They will be able to hire one other free agent to replace him. This rule was created to stop the top teams from stacking the deck, in their favor.
Another rule to help keep teams balanced, is a change to the rule that determines who a free agent is. This year only those who have six or more seasons under their belt are considered Unrestricted Free Agents, who can sign with any team. Any player with 5 and fewer years are only considered restricted Free Agents and are only available to be signed by their team, or signed by another team as long as they send a draft pick to the team for which they belong.
There is also a rule that allows teams to reduce or eliminate the benefits they give to players. Although no team has yet to use this as a chance to save a few bucks, because once again they know it is just a one year deal.
So now you may be asking, what does all this mean. Well, it does not mean as much as sounds. While some players may be getting a little more money than they would have any other season. It has proven not to be as outrages as it could have been. Most teams have decided to stay out of the free agency market all together leaving only a few teams to fight over the veterans. Which could also be attributed to this being one of the best drafts in recent years. Now next year will be a different story if the NFL does not come to an agreement, you will be able to expect lockouts and or strikes, lets all hope that does not happen.

Hello everyone, Ken Wicklein here. For those who do not know, I am one of the hosts and Owner of the NFL Endzone. I am just making this quick post to let everyone know that we are coming back full time in March(thats right this very month). We have been lax as of late getting new episodes out to ya. The reason is not a simple one, we were not liking the product that we were giving you each and every week. So we took some time to re hash some ideas and just work on providing better more entertaining content every week.
One of the first changes that you will see is a redesign of our website, for a more smoother substantial look. As well as provide an easier way to reach our content. Such as working with Facebook to allow for easy membership.
As for the bread and butter, our sportscast. We are still working out the details with it, so we are not ready to talk about those changes yet. But we do have shows worked out already. We will have our first award show and our first live video show!
You can write in to us and endzone(at)crosstalknet.com and tell us who should win awards or just give us some ideas or questions.
