The next top Draft Prospect, is one who almost everyone considers the best Quarterback in the draft. That is of course the Oklahoma Sooner Sam Bradford. Who shares a lot of similarities to Tim Tebow. If you were to look over their college careers you will see that they are cut from the same tree. Which will put a lot of pressure on both the young Quarterbacks since they will be compared their whole careers.
Sam Bradford was thrown into the fire, as they say. During his freshman year he was thrust into the starting position thanks to the then Quarterback to be kicked, due to violating NCAA rules. Some could argue that he had the best freshman season as a Quarterback leading the Sooners to the Big 12 championship and setting the freshman record for touchdowns with 36 TDS
His Sophomore season was even better, becoming only second sophomore to win the Heisman, the other being Tim Tebow. He was again led the team to another Big 12 championship, and help set a new record for the most points scored with 702. He had 50 Touchdowns that season to help make it happen. The season also helped get him ten post season awards on the tail of the Heisman trophy.
Bradford’s junior season, was cut short after getting injured in the first game of the season. He underwent surgery to repair his throwing shoulder. This would only be his second injury, with the first being a concussion during his freshman season. With an injury of this sort to a quarterback, it can be hard to overcome. Since even if there is no pain, he might still favor his shoulder leading to more sacks or poor throws.
Despite his injury, he is still considered to be the top Quarterback in the draft, and even the best player in the draft. Which this writer agrees, he has shown a lot of mature and has scored very high on Wonderlic test which should lead to him being able to adept very quickly to the fast paced NFL. We would be very surprised if he does not go with the number one pick. The rams need a Quarterback and would be crazy to pass on such a prospect.
